AUTOMATIC COMBUSTION CONTROL IN STEAM POWER
PLANT - INCREASE EFFICIENCY
Automatic Combustion control is now
general use for large steam power plants. It regulates automatically changes in
demand of steam and also affects quick and stable changes in other variables so
as to maintain constant steam pressure and proper combustion conditions.
It is sure that an automatic
combustion control system has to maintain constant steam pressure at all loads.
For controlling rate of combustion the conditions to be regulated are drought,
air supply and fuel supply.
The drought and air supply may be
regulated either by dampers, vanes or by the speed of fans or both. The fuel
supply is regulated according to the method of firing used.
It saves manual labor and increases
operation efficiency.
