class 10 ICSE SELINA EX 3B question 1 | A man buys 75, Rs100 shares paying 9 percent dividend. He buys shares at such a price that he gets 12 percent of his money. At what price did he buy the shares ?

 NV = 100

No of share = 75

Dividend %= 9%

Dividend = 9% of NV x No of share

                = (9/100)x100x75

                =675

Let MV of each share = X

MV of 75 Share = 75X

he makes a profit of 12%

so, 12% of 75X = 675

=> (12/100) x 75X = 675

=> X = (675 x 100)/(12 x75)

=> X = 75

therefore Market Value of each share is Rs. 75
